1. Heart-Shaped Bird Feeder
For this craft, 3rd graders will need birdseed, gelatin, cookie cutters, and string. First, mix the birdseed and gelatin in a bowl. Then, press the mixture into heart-shaped cookie cutters. Make a hole at the top with a straw and let it dry overnight. Once it's dry, tie a string through the hole and hang it outside for the birds to enjoy!
2. Love Bug Magnets
For this craft, 3rd graders will need pom poms, googly eyes, pipe cleaners, magnets, and glue. First, glue two pom poms together to make the body and head of the love bug. Then, add googly eyes and pipe cleaners for antennas and legs. Finally, glue a magnet to the back and let it dry.
3. Heart-Shaped Crayons
For this craft, 3rd graders will need broken crayons, a heart-shaped silicone mold, and an oven. First, peel the paper off the crayons and break them into small pieces. Then, fill the silicone mold with the broken crayon pieces. Bake in the oven at 250 degrees for 10-15 minutes until melted. Once it's cooled, pop the heart-shaped crayons out of the mold and enjoy!
4. Handprint Cards
For this craft, 3rd graders will need construction paper, paint, and markers. First, have the child paint their hand with their favorite color. Then, press their hand onto the construction paper to make a handprint. Let it dry and then decorate the handprint with markers to look like a heart. Write a sweet message inside the card and it's ready to give!
5. Heart-Shaped Picture Frame
For this craft, 3rd graders will need popsicle sticks, glue, paint, and a photo. First, glue four popsicle sticks together in a square shape. Then, glue two more popsicle sticks diagonally across the square to make a heart-shaped frame. Let it dry and then paint it in their favorite colors.
